VetSpecs^® WM10

Designed for wireless patient monitoring in surgery, dentistry, and postoperative intensive care, and wireless ECG test and blood pressure monitoring at points of care, the WM10 features a Bluetooth 5.6” display platform; a Bluetooth six-lead ECG module; a Bluetooth blood pressure module; and a Bluetooth multiparameter module containing single-lead ECG, pulse oximetry, airway-direct respiration, impedance respiration, and temperature; and offers six configurations to choose from:

●  WM10-A comes with Bluetooth six-lead ECG module and can add the other modules at any time.

●  WM10-B comes with Bluetooth blood pressure module and can add the other modules at any time.

●  WM10-C comes with Bluetooth multiparameter module and can add the other modules at any time.

●  WM10-AB comes with Bluetooth six-lead ECG module and Bluetooth blood pressure module.

●  WM10-AC comes with Bluetooth six-lead ECG module and Bluetooth multiparameter module.

●  WM10-BC comes with Bluetooth blood pressure module and Bluetooth multiparameter module.

For wireless monitoring in surgery or dentistry, place the multiparameter module and/or the blood pressure module on or close to the patient. The display platform can be placed on a cart or counter, or hung onto an IV pole or wall, up to 15 meters (50 feet) away from the patient, with no cables, wires, or BP hose in between.

For wireless monitoring in postoperative intensive care, attach the blood pressure module and/or the multiparameter module onto the patient with self-adhering elastic gauze. The display platform can be placed up to 15 meters (50 feet) away from the patient, with no cables, wires, or BP hose in between.

The WM10 features multiple monitoring modes. For example, when the WM10-BC is in all-parameter monitoring mode (shown below), it provides a heartbeat sound and a respiratory sound, and displays

The WM10 automatically saves all registered waveforms, readings, and trend graphics on a USB flash drive. Take the flash drive to your computer and transfer the saved data, which is compatible with ALL practice management software systems. You can then review the data and print out a monitoring report, as shown below, through any office printer.

The WM10 features the Volume Plethysmography, a breakthrough noninvasive blood pressure method which has been proven to be accurate and effective in all cats, dogs, and other similar-sized animals. Sharing the same principle of the Doppler method, the Volume Plethysmography employs a cuff to occlude arterial flow and a pulse sensor band to register arterial pulsations. But unlike the manually operated Doppler method, which provides only the systolic arterial pressure, the Volume Plethysmography is fully automated, and provides a real-time pulse rate with pulse waveforms, as well as the systolic, diastolic, and mean arterial pressures.

For blood pressure monitoring, wrap the pressure sensor band and an appropriately sized cuff on the patient’s leg and attach the blood pressure module onto the patient’s body or leg with self-adhering elastic gauze. For blood pressure monitoring in intensive care, you may have the patient stay inside a cage at the recovery or ICU area and place the display platform up to 15 meters (50 feet) away.

When only the blood pressure module is in use, the WM10 enters the blood pressure mode (shown above), displaying on one screen:

The WM10 saves all registered readings on the USB flash drive. You can review the data on your computer, print out a report through any office printer, and permanently store the data in your patient database under your existing practice management software system.

For monitoring in surgery or dentistry, the WM10 registers ECG and core temperature through an esophageal probe, with no leads or sensors on the patient’s body or legs. The WM10 comes with two different sized esophageal probes suitable for use in all cats, dogs, and other similar-sized animals.

For monitoring in postoperative / intensive care, the WM10 registers ECG, impedance respiration, and rectal temperature through the ECG leads (shown below) with two limb-plate electrodes and a detachable temperature probe.

The WM10 comes with a SpO2 lingual sensor and a SpO2 leg/paw sensor. While the lingual sensor is for use in most surgical procedures, the leg/paw sensor is designed specifically for use in oral surgery, dentistry, and postoperative / intensive care.

Employing a high-power LED light source, the leg/paw sensor can work effectively on patients’ legs and paws, even at sites covered with pigmented tissue and dense fur. The leg/paw sensor can also be used for quick spot checks on the pulse rate and SpO2 in awake and conscious patients.

The WM10 features two VetSpecs^® proprietary respiratory monitoring techniques: the airway-direct method for monitoring of intubated patients in surgery and dentistry, and the impedance method for monitoring of un-intubated patients in postoperative / intensive care.

The airway-direct method, with an airway respiration sensor (shown below) inserted between the endotracheal tube and the breathing circuit, can effectively register the respiration of intubated patients even when constant motions are present in surgical or dental procedures.

The impedance technique, developed specifically for respiratory monitoring of patients in postoperative / intensive care, utilizes the same two ECG leads to simultaneously register respiration as well as ECG, with no additional wires or sensors on the patient.

The WM10 can perform ECG screening with the multiparameter module and diagnostic ECG test with the six-lead ECG module. For ECG screening or test, place the ECG leads onto the patient’s legs and attach the multiparameter module or the six-lead ECG module on or close to the patient. The WM10 enters the ECG mode, displaying cascaded three lines of a single lead ECG or six Leads of ECG.

The WM10 can record ECG continuously for up to 24 hours from a patient inside a cage located up to 15 meters (50 feet) away from the display platform. All ECG data are saved on a USB flash drive, which can be reviewed on your computer, printed through any office printer, and stored in your patient database under your existing practice management software system.
